The Tanzania Entrepreneurship Foundation (TEF) was founded in 2018 with a mission to empower and guide individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset to take ownership of their economic future. We believe that the key to unlocking the potential of our economy lies in promoting entrepreneurship spirit among Tanzanians and providing them with the tools, techniques, and frameworks they need to start, grow, and excel in their businesses.

The idea for TEF came about after the visit of Mr. Gary Shotton, the founder of Inspiring Better Business, and Octavian Msongamwanja, a Tanzanian native from Morogoro. During their visit, they emphasized the importance of changing our mindset from being job seekers to becoming job creators and encouraged people that economic transformation of Tanzania will be built by Tanzanians and not outsiders. This was the genesis of TEF wanting to inspire and guide those with an entrepreneurship mindset to start, grow and excel their businesses.

Since our inception, we have been working hard to achieve our mission. We have been actively educating and inspiring young people through our programs, which include teaching students at different levels of education in Tanzania, like secondary school, university, and college levels. Additionally, we have been starting classes in different communities like small Investment groups, church groups, youth groups, women groups, farmers groups and many other kinds of groups that are part of our society.

To reach out to more people and provide them with the necessary tools, techniques, and frameworks they need to start, grow, and excel in their businesses, we started a radio show called Okoa FM, found on frequency 106.3. Through Okoa FM, we are able to answer questions and provide expert insights on various topics related to entrepreneurship and business, and help to create a culture of entrepreneurship in Tanzania.

We are committed to continuing our efforts to empower and guide individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset to take ownership of their economic future, and to promote entrepreneurship spirit among Tanzanians. As a non-profit organization, we are also committed to transparency and accountability, and dedicated to using our resources in the most effective and efficient way possible to achieve our mission.
